The certification of CPM is provided by the Institute of Supply Management. The primary requirements to get CPM are that the applicant must have work experience in the purchasing field for several years, a four year degree and they have to pass a four part exam.

To start with, for receiving your Certified Purchasing Manager certification the applicant should either have five years of full time experience in supply management professionally or three years of full time experience along with four year degree from a recognized institute. The evaluation of the work experience is done by the board of Institute of Supply Management.
Once you are eligible for certification of Certified Purchasing Manager it is time for preparation of exam courses. After you register for the test, verification is done by Institute of Supply Management. Verification notice is issued by ISM via email along with the exam testing code for the applicant to appear in the exam. This exam testing code is required to register at local testing facility.
