Temporary Assistant Buyer - Accessories
Job Profile
The temporary assistant buyer is responsible for assisting the Buyer with planning and analysis, management, development, coordination, and successful performance of assigned merchandise departments.
Responsibilities
Support the Buyer in driving overall direction and performance of category or department.
Prepare and maintain appropriate Merchandising reports and recaps.
Monitor sales information.
Ensure timely delivery of the merchandise through consistent communication and follow up with the vendor, distribution center, and merchant team; communicate issues to the buyer.
Consistently review status of orders with Vendors and Logistics team.
Manage all operational and administrative functions to ensure smooth operation in the buying department including tracking, deliveries, and maintaining an organized sample room.
Assist in coordinating floorset/features.
Partner with Technical Design to participate in fitting garments and review product details to ensure product execution meets the design.
Ensure all floor set samples arrive on time and photo samples are to marketing as scheduled. Follow-up on samples to ensure accuracy.
Provide effective support and assistance to the cross-functional team process (Planning/Allocation, CAD/Technical Design).
Coordinate with other areas (Marketing, Visual, and Store Operations) to ensure successful execution of assortment.
Attend production meetings with Buyer, CAD, and Technical Designers.
Required Experience
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Marketing, Business, or equivalent work experience
Ability to manage through conflict and problem resolution
Ability to bridge and enhance cooperative working relationships
Organizational skills with ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time
Systems and Computer skills (i.e. Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
Excel spreadsheet experience.
Understanding of top competitors, target customer, and brand-specific fashion trends
Must be a self starter, self motivated, team driven, and creative
Desired Qualifications
Specialty store merchandising experience
Strong knowledge of design and color
Knowledge of current/upcoming fashion trends
