A purchasing director manages operational and organizational issues by serving as the point of contact for information and direction on operational issues. Director determines the necessary resources and the financial impact to achieve the goals of the company. Director develops models for the funding and implementation of new programs and methods. Director provides strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues. Director serves as account fiscal officer responsible for developing budgets and ensuring that funds are utilized. Director establishes relationships and act as liaison to representatives from other company and business entities. Director develops a wide database to measure and monitor the costs, funding, and economic consequences for the company. Director develops reports for presentation to governmental and industry leaders.

Director jobs require executives with a master\'s degree (generally an MBA) with a minimum of five to ten years of experience in a related field. Director should have excellent interpersonal, leadership, and presentation skills to provide direction and guidance. Director should have ability to build consensus, and motivate staff across the organization as a member of the executive team. Director should have excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
