Profile

Role Summary:

The MRP / Buyer will strategically develop and manage a global supply chain of goods and services to geographically diverse locations, while driving commercial advantage through achievement of quality, cost, usage and delivery goals. Execute the direct material buy for the Metem factories while driving material cost out programs through better supplier relationships, increased competition and advanced buying strategies.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the MRP / Buyer you will:

Resolve supplier issues that affect performance and on-time delivery

Manage direct material inventory levels. Drive reduction in direct material inventory through material forecasting, material reapplication, and redistribution of inventory

Support Sourcing Initiatives including lead time reduction, Emerging Markets, New Product Introduction (NPI), payment terms and cash flow improvements

Manage projects in a matrix organization across the globe; including interacting with manufacturing personnel to understand unique supplier requirements of global supply chain business

Assist in the development and implementation of improved business processes

In accordance with the developed strategy, drive supplier selection development, and overall supplier management

Provide technical guidance to suppliers toward assuring product/process compliance with engineering drawings and specifications

Drive the negotiation, pricing, and purchasing of associated commodity with suppliers

Utilize modeling data and obtain collaborative feedback to perform optimization simulations and recovery scheduling

Interface with other GE organizations such as: Demand Management, Lifecycle COE, configuration control, Power Purchasing, and others as required

Coordinate planning and scheduling activities for assigned commodity utilizing advanced planning tools to model, simulate, and release optimized material plans to the organization

Apply appropriate optimization methodologies to balance service level, inventory, and resource utilization

Monitor performance to the plan and take pro-active action to solve problems and mitigate risk in meeting the plan

Deliver deflation on Year over Year measurable buy, and drive fulfillment metrics

Ensure compliance with business and quality standards

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing)

Minimum of 3 additional years of experience in sourcing, manufacturing, or operations
