The successful applicant would be required to work within a team focused on identifying and realising opportunities for facilitating the timely and cost effective supply of indirect materials and services to the business.Responsibilities• Working within of a core team of Procurement professionals responsible for indirect purchases, the Buyer will be responsible for the purchasing of a broad range of general goods and services in support of the business• Complete vendor identification, selection and approval activities for all supply chains in compliance with the Quality Management Systems• Promote and maintain good stakeholder relationships, providing an effective service with regard to cost savings, timeliness, quality and management reporting• Assess supply chain risk and generate solutions for mitigating the risks identified• Process orders for Indirect purchases, ensuring all goods and services are delivered on time, in a cost effective manner and in compliance with the relevant Quality Management Systems• Maintain purchasing data within the Enterprise Resource Planning system to ensure it is current and accurate• Contribute to the management reporting on performance against objectives for the Indirect Purchasing teamKey requirements• Minimum of 4 GCSE A-C passes (or equivalent) including Maths and English• Previous purchasing experience is desirable, with a proven track record of delivering innovative, reliable and cost-effective supply chains; and experience in the negotiation of supply agreements(PLEASE NOTE: More junior or less directly experienced candidates with the desire to develop a career in this area will also be considered.)• The ability to manage workloads and priorities to support multiple customer requirements at any given time• A full UK driving licence• A full, valid passport ensuring unrestricted travel to and from the UK• CIPS qualified or part qualified would be desirable but not essential• A knowledge of facilities purchasing would be desirable but not essentialPerson specificationThe successful applicant will be a good team contributor, with strong communication and inter personal skills.
