Sr. Buyer About The Role: The Senior Buyer is responsible for supporting manufacturing or other disciplines by procuring raw materials, equipment, OEM parts, tooling and services in sufficient quantities to provide for a 100% customer service level while achieving targeted inventory objectives. Determines material requirements from engineering and production schedules, and maintains inventory at planned levels. Plans, schedules, and monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle. Additionally, the Senior Buyer is responsible for thoroughly understanding and improving the commodities they support. \u00a0 Your Responsibilities Include: Materials Administration: Generates, adjusts and expedites purchase orders based on MRP (material requirements planning) along with pertinent information being used to run the business, i.e. schedule adherence, S&OP, etc; Generates buy action based on authorized spending amount; Coordinates with the Planning Team to maintain optimal inventory levels and determine the proper priorities for material support; Tracks and monitors purchase orders, keeping informed of any problems\/delays and communicates any impacts\/constraints to the Planner(s), manufacturing manager\/supervisor or engineering discipline impacted by the change; Supports material needs for the product development process to ensure BSC\u2019s competitive first-to-market strategy; Coordinates subcontracted materials; Generates on-going cost savings through the Value Improvement Process Supplier Management: Monitors and communicates quality and delivery performance to the supplier and Global Sourcing Team; Responsible to resolve supplier related problems (works closely with vendors to assure a positive and professional relationship always establishing and maintaining open lines of communication); Controls assets at suppliers, disposing of obsolete assets and monitoring the age of others. Total Quality: Adheres to CGMP and FDA requirements; Reviews and approves all raw material document change orders; Maintains accurate purchasing master data, AVL, info record, etc.; Interfaces with Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning and Quality to ensure timely throughput and proper prioritization of materials received. Inventory Management: Typically manages moderate to high complexity commodities and expense items; Formulates purchasing decisions to achieve 100% internal customer service, targeted inventory safety stock and least total cost material procurement; Identifies expired, excess and obsolete materials and dispositions the material appropriately. What We're Looking For: Required Qualifications Bachelor\u2019s degree required 5 \u00a0years buying\/purchasing experience Preferred Qualifications \u00a0Direct and\/or Indirect buying\/purchasing preferred SAP knowledge preferred Medical Device Industry Experience preferred
