Here are job position details for your review: Position: MRO Buyer Location: St. Louis, MO 63148 Length: 18 Months JOB DESCRIPTION Summary: Responsible for assuring the continuous supply and timely procurement of materials and services to maintain maximum production levels at optimum costs consistent with quality and quantity specifications; as well as working with Sourcing Managers and vendors to create purchase orders for non-inventory goods and services. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to: Assists other departments and Requisitionersâ€™ in the sourcing of materials and problem solving. Proficient in data entry to produce POs and process purchase order with suppliers. Assist other departments and Requisitioners in the negotiations and contracting of services, e.g., creation of a statement of work, generation of a request for proposal and negotiations. Work closely with Manufacturing, Product Development and Engineering in the procurement of processing equipment; includes the obtaining of quotations from several manufactures, for the price and SOW after management review, issues the purchase order. Obtain competitive bids on goods and services with the basis of greatest profitability to the company, commensurate with quality standards, and delivery capabilities. Provides back-up to other Buyerâ€™s as needed. Maintains timely control of documents and data to assure accurate retention of records. Other duties within the quality department as required. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field, preferred. 3-5 yearâ€™s minimum experience as a buyer/purchaser of goods/services in a corporate environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications â€“ Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, and etc. (drag and drop, directory/file/folder manipulation, strong email experience with document attachments.) Requires the ability to perform problem solving activities, identifying problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options for potential solutions. Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. Experience in negotiations and problem solving with suppliers, required. Excellent verbal and written communication. Exercise sound judgment and ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce. Self-Motivated with a proven record of taking the initiative. Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment. Helpful to have: Knowledgeable of the purchasing process, vendor relations, lead times for raw materials, and inventory control.
