Aerotek is seeking:Aerotek is seeking an MRO Buyer for industry leader in producing medical technology.Job Description:Proficient in using Prism or similar system to produce POs and process purchase orders with suppliers.Provides back-up support in the Purchasing and Supply Chain departments.Assists other departments and Requisitioners in the sourcing of materials and problem solving. Assist other departments and Requisitioners in the negotiations and contracting of services, e.g., creation of a statement of work, generation of a request for proposal and negotiations.Work closely with Manufacturing, construction project managers and engineering in the procurement of processing equipment; includes the obtaining of quotations from several manufactures, for the price and terms and conditions; after management review, issues the purchase order. Obtain competitive bids on goods and services with the basis of greatest profitability to the company, commensurate with quality standards, and delivery capabilities. Advises team members or management on the appropriate supplier's to be usedPreparation of Purchase Recommendations; preparation and issuance of Purchase Orders and revisions Implements purchase contracts that comply with company and government regulationsAssures that the vendor will deliver on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality specificationsMaintains daily contact and coordination with end user, vendors, sub-contractors, freight forwarders to ensure compliance with each contractAnalyzes sales orders and order acknowledgments against purchase order and user requests; resolves discrepancies; updates information on the computer systemRemains in contact with freight forwarders to ensure receipt of materials and compliance with user requests, quantity, specifications, etc.Obtains Dangerous Goods certificates, clearances, packing, Certificates of Analysis, MSDS, etc.Resolves discrepancies to material specifications, short shipments, damage goods, payment terms, etc; changes after the issuance of the purchase ordersCoordinates goods sent back for repair or maintenance, including tracking, customs clearance, forwarding to the repair destination and shipment back to the user, and all required paperworkMaintains all reports pertaining to orders: pending delivery, delivered but waiting shipment, delivered but waiting import license, invoiced, etc.Maintenance of accurate warranty information for all areas of responsibility. Provides back-up to other Buyer roles as needed. Maintains timely control of documents and data to assure accurate retention of records. Work Environment:This person will sit with the procurement team in office suites across the street from the manufacturing building Qualifications:BS\/BA Degree, ideally in Supply ChainIntermediate level MS Excel skills; Solid computer skills, i.e. drag and drop, directory\/file\/folder manipulation, strong email experience with document attachments, intermediate or better in Word and Excel.3-5 year's minimum experience as a buyer\/purchaser of goods\/services in a corporate environment.Excellent communications skills both oral and written to communicate clearly and effectively with others to expedite the procurement of goods. Must excel at working with detail and creating accurate, detailed documents.Proven problem solver who thinks quickly on their feetPrior experience writing purchase orders in ERP\/Supply chain software\/systemsStrong attention to detail & organization skills, ability to multi-task, and strong interpersonal skillshelpful to have:Knowledgeable of the purchasing process, vendor relations, lead times for raw materials, and inventory control.Ability to analyze data in bid process and develop recommendations.
