The Buyer is responsible for partnering with 3rd party suppliers to obtain the necessary materials for the Contract Manufacturing Business. The Buyer will collaborate and partner with internal and external customers and maintain purchase orders and system accuracy.

Manage the purchasing process with 3rd party suppliers, which includes verifying purchase orders and submitting to suppliers.
Ensures production schedules for 3rd party suppliers and internally are adhered to.
Provides support on urgent\/shortage purchases; create and release purchase order, monitor shipment schedule, etc.
Prepare internal and external customer communication and confirmation letters, with notification of approved status.
Resolve any delivery issues of purchased materials and partner with necessary divisions to ensure collaboration and resolution.
Create and maintain master data for procured items in SAP.
Administer pricing changes and updates in SAP as needed.
Provide weekly reports on order schedules and updates.
Verify invoices for accuracy.
Responsible for updating existing purchasing\/accounting reports and developing new ones as assigned.
Support past products with historical knowledge, database maintenance, etc.
Distribute samples to Sales and Sales Support team members.
Recommends and implements process improvements.
Collaborate through communication and teamwork with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous, and professional manner
Exercise sound business judgment
Work independently and collaboratively and manage time effectively in order to meet changing deadlines and priorities
Treat all employees, guests and customers and others affiliated with our business with respect
Conform and abide by all laws, regulations, policies, work procedures, instructions and VTech's Rules of Engagement
Conform with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment
Other duties as needed or required


Ability to effectively handle potentially stressful situations.
Must be detail oriented and possess organizational, self-motivation and problem solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office required. Experience with Access or data mining\/reporting tools preferred.
Familiar with various ERP systems.
Experience with vendor sourcing and building effective supplier relationships.
Strong follow up skills; ability to multi task, meet timelines and follow up with internal and external customers.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Bilingual in both English and Chinese preferred (Mandarin and Cantonese).
Work independently and manage time effectively in order to meet changing deadlines and priorities.


2 years of progressively responsible experience in the area of Supply Chain or Procurement
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain or a related field; or any combination of experience and education that provides the necessary skills, knowledge and ability to perform essential functions of this role.

Duties are primarily performed in an office environment.
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Core hours will be set between employee and manager and will be based on business needs. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected 10% of the time.
