Position Summary:
This position will report directly into the Director of Global Merchandise Planning in developing merchandising plans that support all channels to achieve financial targets and expectations for the company. The Senior Global Merchandise Planner will collaborate with the Merchandising team to provide guidance for the global brand line architecture plan ensuring that financial targets are achieved. This position will manage the assortment planning process utilizing 7th online to build global assortment plans that align to the creative vision while allowing for channel customization. In addition, the Senior Global Merchandise Planner will evaluate current business performance metrics and develop streamlined reporting and analysis to provide creative teams and leadership compelling analysis to inform timely decisions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assortment Planning:
Prepare and coordinate the hindsight analysis at channel level and brand review to inform the upcoming season strategy (include channel performance, account feedback, emerging trends, opportunities)
Support the Director of Global Merchandise Planning in setting the seasonal strategy to coordinate across all channels to present an EF brand plan to the merchandising team in building the line architecture plan
Partner with merchandising to develop the global merchandising line architecture to drive design decisions, ensuring the creative plan ties to the top side financial plans
Prepare global roll ups of product commitment purchases utilizing the 7th online assortment planning tool to include review of buys vs. budgets
Provide reporting on forecasts at each SCP milestone for merchandising and sourcing to have visibility for brand concerns (minimum issues, factory capacity)
Support channel planners, buyers, sales executives with brand assortment planning guidance thru 7th on line as the channel assortment plans are developed – make recommendations to address gaps with the brand strategies that allows for channel customization
Analyze post market bookings across account/channel and make recommendations for order adjustments (top ranking styles, key looks)
Provide executive summaries on financial target achievement, make recommendations on gap analysis
In-Season Analysis:
Develop global brand business reviews to include selling performance metrics: sales trend vs. plan, markdown rate, margin, stock levels, class drivers, best/worst sellers
Provide unbiased, objective analysis to indicate opportunities and create solutions to close gap in brand plan and financial budget
Required Skills
4-year college degree
Required Experience:
7 years in merchandise planning
Systems and Tools Acumen:
Advanced Excel to include pivot tables, macros, Microsoft Office 365
Ability to work within systems as well as create working tools within Excel
7th online working experience and knowledge a plus
Financial and Business Acumen:
Strong command of retail math concepts, otb management skills
Adept at aggregating data and interpreting into actionable and informative analysis at executive level
Candidate management attributes:
Fosters highly collaborative relationships with business and creative partners
Influencer, can present ideas to business partners and leadership team
Strategic innovative thinker with the ability to balance with tactical application and efficiencies
Ability to operate and think globally – big picture; offers solutions, takes initiative
Comfortable with a certain level of ambiguity
Possess strong organizational and time management skills
Demonstrates effective listening, written and oral communication skills
Desired Experience and Skills:
Global brand merchandise planning experience with a company that has both wholesale and retail experience preferred
