We are seeking a Senior Buyer in Procurement Services to:Be responsible for benchmarking, analytics, negotiating and purchasing goods and services for the organization.Perform the evaluation, assessment and implementation of products including bid analysis, contract review, and presentations to a Stakeholders or Value Analysis Team (VAT).Provide excellent customer service and support, item maintenance, and problem resolution.','!*!Education: Minimum - Associate’s Degree or equivalent. Preferred - Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field. Work Experience: Minimum - Five years of purchasing and/or buying experience. Preferred - Healthcare setting experience.  PeopleSoft ERP preferred. Licenses and Certifications: Preferred - Certified Materials Resource Professional (CMRP) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:Understanding of policies and procedures related to procurement activity.Understanding of sound business practices and principles.Excellent computer skills; comfortable working with spreadsheets, word processing and learning new software.Ability to communicate with multiple audiences and communication modes; effectively represents the Purchasing Department in all forums (groups, individuals, etc).Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with a variety of professionals.Ability to work with all levels of UW Health staff interacts primarily with staff, Managers, and some Directors.Excellent organizational skills.Planning / Organization - Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities/deadlines and shift priorities as necessary. Uses time effectively.Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Gathers and analyzes information skillfully. Physical Requirements: Sedentary: Ability to lift up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers and small tools.  Although a sedentary job is defined as one, which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.   Work Schedule: This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position with shifts scheduled Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
