POSITION SUMMARY:Responsible for both tactical and strategic procurement activities including sourcing, managing and maintaining specific groups or classifications of purchased materials and services. Assists existing supply chain professionals on assigned projects or programs. Acts as a liaison between internal customers and suppliers to meet or exceed expectations for quality, quantity, price, delivery and innovation. Follows, develops, improves and maintains processes and systems utilized by the company to perform procurement related tasks and functions. Works collaboratively across the organization and actively supports Wanzek's values and beliefs.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:• Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures• Support the implementation of industry best practices and a mindset of continuous improvement• Review, analyze and monitor assigned supplier/subcontractor capabilities, quotes, bids and performance• Execute daily, weekly and monthly tasks to insure the timely procurement and delivery of assigned materials and services• Research, analyze, configure and draw informed data driven conclusions from procurement data• Prepare, process and monitor purchase orders and change orders• Facilitate the timely resolution of issues with suppliers related to price, quality, delivery, condition, etc. • Work closely with other Wanzek resources to negotiate contractual obligations including terms, conditions and price• Monitor, update and improve systems, processes and documents used to perform procurement activities• Attend meetings and facilitate discussions with internal customers and externals suppliers to promote strong communication and alignment of expectations and results• Create, update, communicate and present data at company meetings • Develop and maintain expertise on assigned products and services• Maintain and communicate knowledge of market conditions and industry activity that may impact business• Work collaboratively with other procurement personnel inside Wanzek and the Mastec family of companies when applicable to increase and improve purchasing leverage• Research and evaluate new sources for assigned products and services• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor• Other duties as assignedQualificationsEDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or Business and 3 years related experience with demonstrated improvement results• The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial construction/EPC industry and/or supply chain experience in a best-in-class company KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:• Actively support Wanzek's Zero Injury goal and lead by example• Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills• Strong computer skills and advanced knowledge of Microsoft office suite, especially Excel • Experience using industry specific software and data mining from ERP software • Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical documents• General understanding of terms and nomenclature used in the construction industry• Ability to be accurate, precise and follow set procedures and standards• Excellent collaboration abilities and strong written, verbal and electronic communication skills• Ability to interact professionally with all levels within the organization and with clients, subcontractors and suppliersMasTec, Inc. is an equal employment opportunity employer.
