Job Description: Plans, organizes and coordinates the activities and operations of the purchasing department including the procurement of supplies, materials, equipment and services. Coordinates and prepares RFP, bids and quotations for a variety of purchases. Analyzes bids or quotations received. May write contracts Recommends awarding of contracts or placing of purchase orders. Explores alternative sources for supplies Prepares purchasing schedule. Handles complaints from vendors and departmental representatives. Confers with departmental representatives regarding purchasing needs, policies, procedures, and concerns. Oversee purchase orders. Always looking to keep what's working working while looking to make improvements where they can add value. Continuous improvements to processes. Keep detailed documentation. Strong attention to details. Be an approachable leader, walk the walk. Skills & Abilities: MRP system knowledge required. B.S. Science, Engineering or Business Strong customer service proficiency Handle a large work load Good interpersonal and communication skills. 5 Years of purchasing experience. Preferred Experience: Purchasing of electronics Military parts Oracle Environment
