A procurement buyer's primary duty is to manage and direct the commodities they oversee. By understanding the Total Cost of Ownership, anticipating customer needs and evaluating best value solutions, negotiating pricing and contractual terms, maintaining and promoting social, ethical, and organizational norms in conducting internal and external business activities, and giving high priority to service and customer satisfaction.
Day-to-day order placement, tracking, and follow-up
Serve as the vendor liaison for issue resolution and vendor complaints
Generate requests for proposals, review responses, and recommend decisions
Build customer relationships internally
Provide timely and accurate information to the business
Lead cost-savings initiatives that impact the business
Participate in/lead supplier engagement activities
Participate in/lead contract negotiations, and manage contractual obligations for vendors in regards to service levels, price discounts, and rebates
Bachelor's degree preferred
5-8 years of experience in a similar role
