Crane Aerospace & Electronics is seeking a Sr.

Planner-Buyer, New Product Introduction

in Lynnwood, WA.

The New Product Introduction (NPI) Planner-Buyer represents Operations and new product development. This position is responsible to successfully manage NPI programs from beginning development of material and processes through transition into production. They will work closely with Business/Program Management to ensure decisions are aligned with the business.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Master schedule NPI programs for site

Manage Oracle for NPI programs

Identify and support the operation lead for each program or own the operation lead requirements based on level of NPI efforts

Shared and New component review and availability

Track all materials acquisition and fabrication to support dev/qual iterations

Research & Implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)

Coordinate with NPI buying, Strategic and Tactical procurement

Manage material acquisition for NPI

Work with outsourcing team/supplier for commodities such as CCAs, sheet metal, magnetics etc.

Coordinate internal conforming builds

Communicate priorities and schedule changes to the Production Planner to support changes in prototype and production requirements

Manage hardware build working with Assemblers, MEs, Planners, and VSMs/Supervisors

Track and report progress of development builds to the IPT/NPI teams

Coordinate with Operations; manufacturing, MEs, quality, and engineering to execute; cell requirements, resource needs, tools, and test equipment

Ensure completion of product readiness checklist

Support Production Readiness Review

Ensure successful material changeover to production buying for new parts

Assist and Drive Production Transition Audit checklist

Disposition all E&O material to program

NPI Inventory management and reporting

NPI Reporting

Monitor and report through visual metrics performance to the cost, lead time, and quality targets

Attend all meetings associated with NPI and other meetings as applicable.

Any other task assigned by your supervisor or management

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience

Five (5) or more years of experience in planning in a similar industry or demonstrated equivalent knowledge of supply chain function through work experience and/or school

Knowledge

In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes.

In-depth knowledge of production planning, material requirements planning (MRP), and buying and ordering procedures.

In-depth knowledge of computer systems that support production i.e. Master scheduling, production scheduling, Materials Requirement Planning (MRP), inventory control, reporting.

Skills/Abilities

Proven ability to develop and execute action plans and communicate/coordinate cross functionally with Engineering, Program Management, Manufacturing Operations and Supply chain to achieve company goals.

Ability to understand complex customer flow down requirements and work with suppliers to make sure those requirements are met.

Ability to develop and foster effective working relationships across functions; (Business, Program Management, Engineering, Value Streams, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Strategic and Tactical Supply Chain)

Proficiency in Excel and Word and Oracle.

Education/Certification

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain and/or relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional certification (APICS, CPIM, CPSM)

Knowledge of subcontracts

Knowledge of FAR, DFAR, and ITAR regulations

LEAN manufacturing experience

Employment Eligibility Requirement

Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident and not require Visa sponsorship to be eligible. Because we contract with the US Department of Defense we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Working Conditions:

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment

Requires approximately 10% travel to support customers

Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any otherrequired PPE

May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes

Standing: 30% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task

Sitting: 70% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task

Lifting (in pounds): up to 25 pounds

Pushing (in pounds): up to 25 pounds

Mental/Visual: use of computer

Workspace: cubicle/desk
