Youu2019ll partner with the Buying, Marketing, and Analytics Teams in an effort to increase revenue and margin and improve inventory productivity. Planning & Forecasting Responsibilities: Along with your Buying partner, manage the financial success of one or more departments by meeting sales, product margin and inventory productivity goals During quarterly hindsight process, collaborate with Buyers to identify key learnings around assortment, inventory composition, pricing and promotions and recommend actions to be taken in subsequent quarters Develop pre-season sales targets that support finance and marketing objectives for specified product categories Design inventory strategies that balance the composition of new, replenishment and evergreen merchandise and support in-stock and turn objectives Partner with Merchandise Planning Analyst to ensure that bottoms-up execution is in alignment with these strategies Partner with Buyers to develop quarterly vendor plans that support creative vision, product and assortment strategies, and financial objectives Recommend quarterly season code and markdown plans that maximize seasonal selling opportunities and minimize end of season markdowns Re-forecast sales and inventory monthly and reconcile against revised tops down forecasts Perform regular, in-season analysis to identify areas of risks and opportunity and create action plans to be communicated in weekly category performance reviews Develop and maintain effective working relationships with members of cross-functional team (buying, private label, marketing, finance, analytics and FC operations) Supporting Planning Manager in development of financial plans and inventory recommendations for promotions and clearance events Partner with the Merchandise Planning Team and Analytics to develop sustainable and scalable planning tools, processes, and reporting Leadership Responsibilities: Collaborate with peers and share best-practice to ensure consistency in tools, reporting and communications Actively participate in new hire training and assist in peer development Oversee the career and skill development of a Merchandise Planning Analyst in a way that drives job satisfaction and retention and builds bench strength Foster a culture that is open, honest and centered around continuous improvement by providing and soliciting timely and actionable feedback in weekly one on ones Requirements: 5 years of Merchandise Planning or Inventory Management experience, preferably in e-commerce Bacheloru2019s degree Astounding proficiency in MS Excel Top-notch analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to objectively interpret historical sales and inventory data and to extract meaningful themes that advise future business strategies Understanding of structure, uses & elements of traditional Open to Buy Proficiency in Retail Math (sales, gross margin, GMROI, DOH) and proven ability to translate those metrics into actionable information that drives financial results Excited to create and foster effective working relationships with a very broad group of business partners Superior communication skills; comfortable addressing all levels within the organization across three different geographic locations Extremely flexible and adaptive to changing priorities Comfortable with a certain amount of ambiguity Creative, open-minded nature, and an entrepreneurial spirit Able to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
