Sr. Associate Buyer

JOB DESCRIPTION:This position will be providing Plants & Production and/or Indirects category contracts support. In addition, this position will support the purchase of equipment, goods, materials, and services from suppliers at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source, and urgency of need.

This position works under general supervision and applies diversified procedures and standards. Use of existing procedures to solve standard problems and provide recommendations. Assigned significant tasks for which independent judgment is required.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Issues RFQ/RFP, negotiates price, contract terms and conditions relative to assigned commodities.

Analyzes RFQ/RFP responses and makes recommendations.

Responsible for supplier commercial qualifications of suppliers within assigned commodities.

Purchase equipment, goods, materials and services.

Support with ad hoc analytical work with the purpose of identifying and quantifying opportunities.

Works with the financial organization to resolve invoice payment.

Maintains operational discipline and compliance of the procurement processes by following standard work guidelines and procedures.

Serves as key contact for suppliers, plant operations, and corporate groups for assigned commodities.

Clear, professional, and timely communication with all internal clients and vendors.

Build effective relationships with business stakeholders.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree required; Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business, Marketing, Engineering or related fields preferred.

3-5 years Procurement experience preferred, or

3-5 years of Sales, Engineering, Operations, Logistics or related field preferred

Prior experience with an ERP system such as JD Edwards or Oracle desirableKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
