Advance your business development, procurement and/or supply chain management career within the Oil and Gas industry! We are seeking a “hands on” field-based Senior Crude Oil Relationship Manager
that will manage the relationships of numerous existing crude oil suppliers and lead the prospecting activities for new suppliers for a specialty petroleum refinery in the Midwest. This is a unique position that blends knowledge of supply chain and purchasing functions with business development and direct client relationship management. An entrepreneurial mindset and outgoing personality with the ability to multi-task and work independently are key success factors for this position.
Essential Job Functions include:
Initiate, develop and maintain positive relationships with all crude producers and suppliers in Ohio and West Virginia to maintain and grow crude supply to desired levels.
Identify new prospects and leads in Midwest states to secure additional crude feedstock agreements.
Provide timely customer service to producers and suppliers including regular meetings and office visits.
Provide company representation at various industry and trade association events to promote the company’s crude purchasing efforts.
Monitor incoming crude to ensure quality meets company processing standards.
Interface with appropriate departments on quality issues and corrective actions.
Negotiate and close new supplier contracts to include payment terms, supply conditions, and transportation details.
Monitor and prepare various reports pertaining to crude receipts, suppliers, forecasts, quality, inventory, crude exchanges and other crude purchasing information as requested.
Provide crude oil market intelligence by tracking trends in the crude oil and liquid markets, thus making business recommendations to the management team.
Identify and recommend new business opportunities for the company and its affiliates.
Qualifications for this role include:
BS/BA degree in business or a science discipline.
5+ years of sales, business development, procurement, supply chain, logistics, or commodities trading experience in the Oil and Gas, Refining, Petrochemical, or Lubricants markets.
Proven skills at establishing, building and promoting positive relationships through quality customer / vendor service.
Understands the crude oil and liquids markets, key pricing benchmarks, and land/marine logistics to secure and transport feedstocks to refinery.
Strong analytical data analysis skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Dynamic interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and foster relationships with co-workers and suppliers.
Valid driver’s license with good driving record is required.
Willingness to travel overnight.
