About The Opportunity
What youll do
Structure and pilot the purchasing Programs in the Region to guarantee the QCD target achievement.
Ensure the involvement of Purchasing in any new Program as from the early stage of the NBA phase.
Initiate the APQP and set QCD targets with the NBA Manager.
Validate the purchasing assumptions used for the RFQA before the offer the offer is sent to the Customer.
Program phase (after Customer award)
Manage any necessary hand-over between the Acquisition and the Program Buyers.
Check and update Programs QCD targets with the Program Manager as necessary.
Monitor and track the purchasing performance in Programs: ensure the control of costs, delivery deadlines and quality requirements in accordance with the APQP
Engineer, ensure the implementation of corrective actions for any deviation.
Manage administrative and legal requirements to ensure contractual clarity in relation to orders (prototypes, tooling, open orders), ramp up volumes, etc.
Manage appropriate hand-over between Programs and Plants Buyer at the end of the development phase.
Sourcing decision and Suppliers management
From NBA phase and throughout the Program, propose and document with the Regional Commodity Buyers sourcing options in line with the Divisions commodity strategies.
Manage Supplier relationships in Programs and assess their performance.
Resources & Management
Allocate relevant resources at the very early stages and review resource requirements during NBA and Program phases according to the Program type & priority level.
Manage the NBA and Program buyers (Direct report for Regional or Functional report for Plants).
Database and Tools
Maintain the global purchasing Program database
Contribute to the development of and use Divisional standard tools for costing and
APQP and global Program purchasing management.
Reporting and System
Ensure the Program Purchasing Tracking Tool is kept updated.
Ensure regular reporting for his or her Programs in terms of Cost, Quality and Delivery.
Bachelors Degree in Business or Engineering (Masters Degree preferred). Similar educational background acceptable.
Minimum 5 years experience as a Plant or Commodity Purchasing and/or Supply Chain Manager in a manufacturing environment.
Previous direct supervision experience required.
Automotive manufacturing experience preferred.
Purchasing certification desirable.
Demonstrated ability of successfully leading large teams located in various sites.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and technical acumen.
Experience in an international matrix organisation.
Excellent computer skills in MS Office, with emphasis on Excel. Additional competencies in the following areas:
MRP/ERP systems (MFGPro and/or SAP preferred)
Results oriented with good written and oral communications skills.
Strong negotiation skills.
Proven ability in the following areas:
Management and analysis of large amounts of data/information.
Team management and ability to accomplish tasks through others.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to manage multiple activities under strict time constraints.
Must have valid driving license and be able to travel internationally up to 25%.
