This position is responsible for the daily execution of the Scheduling and\/or Buying activities for their assigned equipment and material categories: Coordinating and developing production schedules to ensure company goals are met and deadlines are achieved including operational efficiency and waste and customer satisfaction commitments. Identifying and procuring the materials and supplies needed to ensure efficient plant operations in balance with the company's working capital investment. In addition, this role is looking at as an experienced resource in the department and across the organization to support the Supply Chain Manager role, guideless experienced team members and will interact with the extended Supply Chain team in the execution of continuous improvement efforts. SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or Business or a related field required Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment. APICS or related professional certification preferred. Advanced analytical skills and proficiency working in ERP systems and Microsoft Office software. Demonstrated experience in successful process standardization and improvement projects. Ability to lead small teams focused on specific work streams of larger projects. Project management experience or exposer preferred. Drive for results and a strong sense of urgency. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgement. Excellent interpersonal, indirect leadership, presentation, and communication skills to lead cross-functional collaboration throughout the organization. Ability to drive tasks throughout the organization, driving initiatives and execution on commitments. Ability to influence stakeholders including a concern for impact and company values. Eagerness to mentor junior staff. Ability to teach related concepts and procedures. Desire to move into a managerial role. Actively support the Safety commitment and executive all activities in a safe manner. Occasional local\/out of town\/overall travel is required, involving driving and\/or flying. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop, update, and control production schedule including sequencing, material requirements, operations efficiencies, and customer requirements. Process change notifications from both a customer-driven perspective as well as those requested by internal functions. Identify and resolve schedule conflicts within the supply chain group as well as across other functional departments. Work with related plant technical and operations team to determine appropriate scheduling guidelines and align processes and business systems accordingly. Analyze requirements and communicate purchase orders to suppliers in line with corporate-negotiated supplier agreements. Raw material inventory management including ownership of the purchase order decision-making process, purchase order entry, consignment inventory management, cycle counting, and aged inventory control. Following all purchasing policies and procedures including checking purchase orders and reviewing supplier acknowledgments for completeness, clarity, and accuracy. Follow-up on supplier-issues and adjust inventory levels or receipts to support the production schedule. SECONDARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Appropriately apply business rules in decision making to reduce complexity, act professionally, and create value for the organization. Identify and perform root-cause analysis. Provide data analysis. Provide data-based analysis, reports, and recommendations to manager complex problems and drive continuous improvement. Track and report key functional metrics to measure performance. Contribute to the development and implementations of systems, policies, and procedures to ensure the most efficient and accurate processing and documentation. Maintain and improve organized processes to ensure quick responses to internal and external customers. Assist in the mentoring and development of team members to support the commitments of the department and organization. Create a positive work environment. Actively participate in company safety programs. Work collaboratively to promote the success of the entire organization. Develop and execute a personal development plan in support of continuous improvement for both the organization and the individual. Keep manager informed of activities, problems, opportunism, and successes.
