to work at our Baton Rouge, LA location.
SUMMARY OF ROLE
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with demonstrated integrity, commitment, customer focus, and the ability to embrace change. This position requires someone who is detail-oriented, can efficiently multi-task, has superior communication skills, and the ability to work and succeed in a fast-paced environment. The candidate will have a proven record of purchasing functions, project cost reporting and will rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Additionally, you will be responsible for all procurement functions including but not limited to developing & managing a supplier database capable of responding to fast paced turnaround schedule requirements.
Some of the other core responsibilities will also include:
Interfacing with Project Management, Engineering, and Construction Site Management to process requisitions, communicate anticipated dates of receipt, and to respond to unanticipated urgent needs
Translating requirements into verbiage that the vendor can act on
Verifying agreements and contractual conditions have been met
Working closely with Project Managers and Legal to Negotiate Terms and Conditions for new service agreements
Modifying PO T&C’s as necessary to reflect correct agreement and terms
When possible seeking aggregation opportunities and collaborating with other Koch companies to leverage purchasing power
Following escalation process to resolve issues that are beyond expertise or decision rights of requisitioner or buyer
Identifying process optimization opportunities
Working on process improvements to streamline purchase-to-pay processes
Assisting with invoicing issues upon request, leveraging supplier relationships when necessary
Experience in Industrial Construction / Industrial Turnaround, Chemicals or Refining Industry
Experience with requisitioning, receipt and processing of 3 rd party materials & services into job cost
Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities & conflicting deadlines
Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point)
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and high sense of urgency
Must be decisive, possess a sense of urgency and be able to handle a high-pressure environment
Working construction knowledge of materials like carbon steel, stainless steel and alloys
Knowledge of or familiarity with construction tools and safety supplies
Experience renting construction and safety equipment
Experience and/or knowledge of welding consumables
Working knowledge in metal fabrication environment (ASME Code)
Experience with Cost Tracking and Project Job Cost procedures
Demonstrated experience with an ERP Business System (Infor, SAP, etc.)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Ability to work extended business hours during peak work times including occasional weekends to support our business activities
The job will primarily be in an office warehouse environment.
