Employee performs under relatively little direction. Must have a sound business understanding and knowledge of general manufacturing processes. Performs follow-up, expediting, monitoring, reporting, and corrective action required to coordinate the timely delivery of materials. Follows and audits the physical progress of material throughout the supplier's manufacturing process to ensure delivery per established schedules. Keeps CostPoint and Buyer updated with most recent supplier commitment. Develops plans, including action items, to mitigate supplier delivery issues. Participates in the supplier development and supplier management process by establishing plans for supplier expectations, executing the plans, and following-up for compliance to the plans. Must be a self-starter able to work without close supervision; understanding what needs to be done and taking the required actions. Will also handle selected routine purchases. In addition to handling selected routine purchases, employee may provide general administrative support.
Contact vendors to determine progress on work orders and adherence to delivery schedule.
Organize vendor lists and files.
Coordinate details with vendors, including revisions to price, discontinued items, back orders, order cancellations, etc.
Provide updated information on problems and delivery to own department, as well as other affected departments in the organization.
Provide general customer service.
Perform filing and other related clerical tasks.
May function as relief front desk/switchboard operator.
Candidate must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 2 to 4 years related experience and/or training. APICS or ISM coursework desired.
Computer skills: Computer literate, Spreadsheets, word processing and presentations (Excel, Word & PowerPoint) Knowledgeable in Internet and e-mail use.
Advance Excel experience desired.
