This position is responsible for the procurement of material in support of both development and production requirements that support government and commercial contracts. Responsibilities include the ordering, scheduling, negotiation and justification of purchase orders. Validation of data and systems for accuracy and other procurement support functions. Preparation of RFQ's, tracking, expediting and coordination of supplier and program information. In addition, the ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability to work in complex manufacturing environment.
30 Issuing request for quotes to multiple suppliers
30 Supplier selection and price justification documentation
20 Issuing purchase orders and fixed price agreements
10 Drive/Support material productivity
10 Drive Support supplier delivery and quality performance
YOU MUST HAVE:
Bachelorâ€™s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Technical or related discipline; in lieu of degree will consider some years of purchasing or buyer experience that includes CPM. CSM or CPSM certification.
1 to 3 years purchasing, operations, or planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
Green Belt Certification preferred
CPM, CSM or CPSM preferred.
Working knowledge of government procurement regulations (FAR) strongly preferred
SAP experience preferred
Exemplary communication skills demonstrating clear, timely information exchange leading to comprehensive understanding of communicated message
Demonstrated success in meeting goals
Continuous Improvement - Demonstrated success in achieving improvement utilizing standardized and recognized methods such as six sigma
Functional Experience - Demonstrated examples of negotiations and supplier management leading to favorable results
