Description TW Metals is seeking an Supply Chain Manager to work in our Los Angeles, CA location. Position Summary: Directs and manages the optimization of global material sourcing, availability, stocking levels and timely delivery. Responsible for providing the best material acquisition cost in order to ensure required competitiveness in the market. Works with the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and the Regional General Managers, to provide a purchasing strategy that adequately meets the needs of our Sales and Marketing objectives. Ensures that inventory is consistently purchased in a timely fashion, at the appropriate quantities, ensuring adequate inventory turnover rates, pricing, terms and conditions, quality, applicability and delivery, while providing sufficient support to ensure the growth of profitable sales. Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To: As a member of the senior management team, actively contributes toward the development, analysis and implementation of strategic initiatives. Participates in design and implementation of purchasing policies and developing long-range goals and objectives for strategic sourcing and procurement. Effectively and consistently maintains item pricing bases in support of the Sales and Marketing Department\u2019s maintenance of resale pricing schedules. Is responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to best purchasing and sourcing practices, in addition to the identification and qualification of outsourced services. Negotiates in a positive, professional, and effective manner with suppliers, qualifying new supply sources, in accordance with applicable antitrust legislation. Meets with management of suppliers for the purpose of strengthening relationships and improving service levels. Searches the world for suppliers that focus on quality, availability and service as a means to improve our ability to accommodate the unique and growing requirements of our expanding customer base. Develops and continually monitors Product Standards that provide the best possible supply position for TW Metals. Assists the organization in addressing critical customer and supplier issues. Builds a cohesive focused team consisting of employees dedicated to advancing TW Metal\u2019s future vision. Ensures that purchasing staff is adequately organized, trained and managed. Competitiveness of replenishment costs; service level to areas, especially response times, in covering inventory requirements; supplier on-time delivery performance; supplier quality rating. Required Skills, Abilities and Education: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and\/or ability required. Desirable Skills, Abilities and Education: Bachelor\u2019s degree from a four-year college or university and fifteen years of purchasing and sourcing experience, including domestic and international procurement. Experience in managing multi-location materials management functions in a warehouse\/distribution environment. Experience in rationalization of supplier base and development of strategic relations with key vendors. Ability to read, write, and fluently speak the English language. Ability to comprehend concepts of moderate to high difficulty and the ability to communicate responses and actions related to these concepts. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to freely determine ratios. Ability to generate graphic representations of data is required. Ability to work effectively with common PC programs such as spreadsheets (Excel) and word processing (Word). Ability to learn mainframe program (Metalware). Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables, and to recognize flaws in common arguments presented.
