**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***., makers of Jelly Belly gourmet jelly beans and other fine confections, is seeking to fill the position of Plant Manager located at Corporate Headquarters in Fairfield, CA to direct and coordinate the activities of the Fairfield plant. This position reports to the VP of Distribution and Manufacturing

lanning and directing production activities with Purchasing, Maintenance, and Quality Control to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.

Plan and direct production activities and establish production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.

Revise production schedule and priorities to compensate for equipment failure, personnel absences, or other operating problems.

Review and analyze production, maintenance, operational, and quality control reports to determine causes of operating or production problems or of nonconformity with product specifications; make corrections as appropriate.

Develop plans for the efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.

Confer with VP to plan business objectives, to develop organizational policies, to coordinate functions and operations between locations and to establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives.

Will work with Plant Manager counterpart in the Midwest.

Coordinate production, distribution, warehousing, and sales in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established.

Confer with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in area.

Develop plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.

Review production costs and product quality, and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of division.

Evaluate performance of managers for compliance with established policies and objectives of the company as well as their contributions in attaining objectives.

Directs preparation of accounting records.

Coordinates with Purchasing Department to arrange for purchasing and delivery of raw materials, colors and flavors, packaging products and other materials to plant for processing.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manages 8 - 10 subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 200 - 220 employees in the Packaging, Panning/Finishing, Kitchen/Mogul , Maintenance, Inventory Control/Logistics, and Planning/Scheduling departments. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Also directly supervises 1 to 2 non supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Knowledge of computerized inventory, ERP/MRP systems, and automated timekeeping programs is a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five (5) to seven (7) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. An equivalency of education could possibly fulfill formal degree requirements.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
