Description Job Title:  SUPPLY CHAIN SPECIALIST   Job Purpose:   The supply chain specialist handles daily oversight and management of plant and\/or customer inquiries, complaints, or special requests regarding escalation needs and supply of components\/commodities for manufacturing. Identify, resolve, and manage all issues related to operational service or cost. Champion ACES escalation and positive relationships (suppliers, brokers, distributors) to support plant, Global Supply Chain, and Sales requirements   Nature of Duties:   The primary responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to, the following: Under limited supervision, the candidate selected for this role will be responsible for implementation and enhancement of Regional supply chain processes. Will support business results by resolving shortages and problematic situations that impact on-time delivery, quality, and on time to customer request for finished product\/components. Respond to inquiries, simplifying practices, increasing productivity, and reducing costs and liability through attentive support services: accounting issues, expedites, price reductions, spot buys, excess reductions, and special requests. Requires extensive analysis of data. For example: comparing current purchase orders against published award pricing to ensure lowest pricing for all customers\/projects. Participate in best-practice comparisons to continuously improve upon business results, speed of execution, and contribution levels to the company. Responsibility and in-depth knowledge of assigned commodities (market conditions and GSM strategies). Initiate and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers. Extract data from system tools for reporting and analysis. Onsite support of plants, as needed.   Education\/Experience:   Requires a Bachelor degree. 2-5 years professional experience in purchasing, supply chain, and\/or negotiations is required. Ability to exercise judgment to determine logical, appropriate actions.  Strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and critical thinking capabilities. A self-starter, demonstrates initiative and commitments.  Ability to apply policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.  Excellent organizational and negotiation skills. Proficiency in MS Excel is required; Oracle experience desired. Some travel domestically and internationally may also be required.     EEO\/VETS DISABLED
