Minimum Requirements:B.A. Degree in Business, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related with 7 years of purchasing experience out of any type of chemical industry. Candidates should have had responsibility for purchasing budgets of at least $10MM. Pluses would be experience with the following: supply chain management, production planning, warehousing, inventory management, selection of shipping vendors both foreign and domestic, and/or purchasing of capital equipment and plant supplies. Job Description:Our client is a rapidly growing, medium-sized specialty chemical manufacturer. This is a newly created position at this plant that is open due to the growth within the company and market. The job will be tailored to the candidate’s experience. This person’s first priority would be to oversee the purchasing of chemicals, plant equipment and miscellaneous items totaling $40MM. Responsibilities span from only being a Purchasing Manager or being a Purchasing/Supply Chain Manager who would be responsible for the following: purchasing, optimizing work flows, cost reduction, freight services, inventory levels, supply chain, inventory control, shipping and production planning levels.
