Over the last few years we've opened over 100 new stores, more than any other convenience retailer in the UK and more recently we've made a number of acquisitions seeing us expand into new channels. We can offer you the chance to develop your skills and build a career with a business that puts people right at the heart of its strategy.As a buyer here at the Co-op, you'll have the opportunity to shape and deliver a truly customer focused category strategy. We'll look to you to partner with our suppliers to drive margins and build ranges, and maintain amazing standards of delivery on branded products. You'll also be responsible for spotting opportunities to develop our own-label propositions as well as being responsible for a large P&L.What you'll do:develop and deliver a customer focused category strategy manage the sale, margins and ranges lead the supplier base to deliver core KPIs through a market leading sales plan make sure the category strategy is delivered as planned, on time and to budget by working tightly with your colleaguesTo be successful in this role with us, you'll need real commercial flair and / or appropriate commercial retail experience. You'll be confident building both an internal network and positive working relationships. We'll also look for you to demonstrate where you have been highly analytical, always looking into market trends and insights.
