Today, 99,000 of us are working to help people live not just longer, but better, in the more than 150 countries we serve.This position is responsible for ensuring company wide purchasing system compliance, and leadership in the application of purchasing policies and procedures.  This includes overall responsibility for the procurement of all goods and services that ADC uses to develop new products, produce existing products and support business functions, including, but not limited to:    Production materials and contracted manufacturing services R&D and production capital equipment, Contract negotiations for multiple sites  Information systems equipment, data communications and software Procurement contracts and agreements for goods and services Managing planning and production of Third Party Manufacturing Managing supplier relationships for all Direct suppliersDevelops and prioritizes overall purchasing department goals and objectives.Measures performance, and institutes corrective actions to achieve them when  necessary.Leads and manages critical material, capital equipment and services contract negotiations.Negotiates multimillion dollar contracts that will impact multiple sites. Ensures the implementation and use of all purchasing modules in SAP. Develops and monitors the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Supplier Program. Promote and ensure compliance with all division Purchasing policies and procedures. Ensure division Purchasing policies and procedures comply with applicable statutory, regulatory and Corporate requirements. Responsible for the quality and delivery of all purchased goods and services. Develops objectives and programs to reduce the total acquisition costs for purchased services.Responsible for insuring procurement staff development and providing professional guidance.Communicate a positive work ethic and sense of urgency through personal example.Drive and implement cost reduction programs at Third Party Manufacturers.Manages inventory at all sites.Responsible for ensuring all ADC Purchasing procedures are adequate and properly used.Develop and monitor appropriate purchasing and inventory metrics.Establish and oversee continuous improvement initiatives in areas of responsibility.The guidance, recommendations, feedback, actions and decisions of the Senior Purchasing Manager are critical to assuring that the policies and procedures related to the acquisition of goods and services are successful in meeting the business requirements and objectives of the division. Such guidance and decisions have a direct impact on the ability of the division to manufacture existing products and to develop new products. The Senior Purchasing Manager is responsible  for negotiating mulimillion dollar contracts that will impact multiple sites. The Senior Purchasing Manager is responsible for maintaining adequate inventory to support production plans and changes to the plans.The Senior Purchasing Manager must effectively communicate, prepare, and negotiate internally and externally.Failure to do so will have direct negative affect on the divisions ability to meet the needs of our customers, and to compete in the commercial market.Comments (Optional):Supervise up to 10 employees to perform the responsibilities of the department.Train, coach, and cousel employees to meet increasing demands upon them and our suppliers.Qualifications:Bachelors Degree required or minimum of eight years demonstrated increasing experience in purchasing function, five of which were in management roles in that function. .   8 years within purchasing function with a minimum of 5 years in a management role.  Preferred Skills:Manages Suppliers in the pastProcessing Engineering and OperationMedical Device Industry Exposure would be a huge benefitDemonstrated skills in implementing and managing ERP systems.    Demonstrated skills in contract development and negotiation including negotiating mulimillion dollar contracts impacting multiple sites.   .    Demonstrated skills in managing mulitmillion dollar bid proposals.    Demonstrated experience with development, implementation and management of companywide purchasing system policies and procedures.   Proven ability to work successfully crossfunctionally and collaboratively to problem solve, initiate and manage projects, influence internal and external groups, and provide leadership from a purchasing perspective.   Significant experience in developing and maintaining positive supplier relationships. .
