Buyer Jobs

A buyer buys stock for resale in stores and works with marketers, product developers, and packaging designers, both within the retail and manufacturing companies. Buyer negotiates contracts with suppliers specifying quality, quantity, and delivery schedules as well as works with suppliers to develop new products, and re-launch existing lines. Buyer is responsible for obtaining bids and placing orders for supplies, materials, and equipments. Buyer monitors market changes, competitor prices and products, and past sales patterns to forecast future demand. Buyer negotiates prices with vendors, qualifies new suppliers, and plans inventory levels according to established guidelines and in a cost efficient manner. Buyer is responsible for purchasing one or more production material commodities and production consumables. Buyer ensures the supply of the goods and services in the required quality, at the economically most favorable price, and at the required time.

Buyer requires a bachelor's degree in purchasing or related fields or equivalent. Buyer should have relevant experience in the retail area. Buyer should have demonstrated negotiation skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
